"From all the training and study support I have received, the emphasis from the company has never been on pushing me forward but on helping me to develop and achieve my full potential."
Kevin Moore, Commercial Department, Employee since 2005

Our most successful people take responsibility for developing their knowledge and skills as soon as they start with A J Bell. On the company’s part, we’re committed to helping you develop and perform at your best in a career with us, giving you the confidence and ability to handle the challenges you’re given.

We will support your training and development from day one, whatever your role, with opportunities including:

  • On the job training, feedback and coaching
  • Face to face and online/e-learning training
  • Management and team leader/supervisory development
  • Company sponsorship for appropriate professional or vocational qualifications

As part of the A J Bell Performance Review Process, you’ll have reviews with your line manager and agree priorities for a Personal Development Plan - to help you meet your more immediate training needs and also to achieve your longer term development goals.

Many of our employees possess degrees - but that’s not an essential requirement for working here. Working hard and showing us you can do the job really well - combined with the right attitude and continuous development of your skills and knowledge - will put you in the strongest position to be ready for any suitable promotion opportunities.

Whatever part you play at A J Bell, you’ll complete regular compliance training such as anti money laundering and data security, as standard. Some of our roles must also meet the Financial Services Authority’s training and competence requirements; you are expected to pass professional qualifications and other regular tests to demonstrate you are able to carry out your role according to the rules. If this applies to your job, we’ll let you know what’s involved at the interview stage and when you join us.
