Match night five - 9 January 2017

Match-night 5 saw tight encounters aplenty as Birmingham Lions spoiled the Bristol Jets party, edging them out 3-2 in what was their first home fixture of their inaugural season to ensure they top the standings with less than a month to go until the Championship Final on February.

Meanwhile in Nottingham, Adam Hall postponed any impending jet-lag from his early morning flight from New York to clinch a 3-2 victory for his side over Loughborough Lightning.

And in Surrey, Rio 2016 bronze medallists Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge went head-to-head across the net, with Ellis' Team Derby side eventually prevailing by the same scoreline.
