Business Development Consultant

We are recruiting for a number of Business Development Consultant roles within the Business Development department. The purpose of the role is to create new and productive relationships with financial advisers and develop existing AJBIC firm relationships on the Funds & Shares Service and our investment proposition. You will play a direct part in helping AJ Bell achieve its new business targets.

The role will involve:

  • Closing new business opportunities with new and existing AJBIC firms
  • Identifying, developing and securing small to medium new business migrations to AJBIC
  • Creating own leads through targeted proactive communication
  • Onboarding new firms and ensure thorough training plan is implemented and relevant ongoing training is provided to avoid poor outcomes
  • Dealing with high potential referrals provided by the Business Development Support and through Marketing activities
  • Running face to face meetings with advisers as required

To be successful in your application and the role, you must have:

  • Experience and proven success working proactively in a platform and investments environment
  • An understanding of investment platforms, investment propositions, financial advisers and their business practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience proactively building and maintaining customer relationships
  • A track record of meeting deadlines and be well organised
  • Proven self-motivation skills to generate workloads using own initiative and with minimal supervision
  • An enthusiasm to work in a target driven environment and take responsibility for increasing new business
  • A desire to further your skills and knowledge by working towards professional qualifications, in particular relating to investments
  • Full UK driving licence
