Product Manager

The Product Manager is responsible for developing and delivering new functionality and features for the Dodl app. Working in a cross-functional team they will work with app developers to drive the Dodl proposition forward. They’ll champion the product vision and be the voice of the customer as we execute an exciting and innovative roadmap for Dodl.

 What does the job involve?

The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Manage the sprint planning process with the development teams balancing the businesses key priorities and short-term incremental improvements
  • Take the role of product owner in a scrum team of internal and external developers
  • Own the product backlog, writing detailed user stories, requirements and acceptance criteria for development
  • Translate the business requirements and define the product requirements for each change project
  • Work with the technical teams to agree the designs, support the development, review development and be involved in UAT testing, release phases and post implementation evaluation
  • Ensure new products and significant changes to the existing web and app are tested with customers through running customer beta testing and that their feedback is taken into account to improve the product before full launch
  • Work with the teams impacted by change, including customer facing and marketing teams to ensure that change is bedded in and that these teams are adequately supported to improve the experience for customers
  • Provide training documents for customer facing teams ahead of new product launches and support the team with training
  • Be a product expert and help the marketing team to develop content that adequately reflects the product
  • Conduct research and analysis on the industry, including competitor and customer research to inform product roadmap.
  • Analyse customer issues and feedback to resolve bugs and make enhancements to the app
  • Ensure changes are compliant and that there has been input from the Compliance and Technical teams
  • Champion agile methodology within the business
  • Perform other tasks as agreed with the Senior Product and Marketing Manager


  • Experience running product development using agile methodology
  • 1-2 years in a product manager/owner role
  • Knowledge of Dodl by AJ Bell or similar investment app, or AJ Bell products
  • Knowledge of the FCA regulatory framework
