Customer Services Team Leader

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader in the SIPP Property Department. The Property Reconciliations team is a non-customer facing team which plays a key role within SIPP Property Administration.

The team is responsible for reconciling dealing with the VAT registration and de-registration process, calculating VAT and submitting returns to HMRC, ensuring property manager statements are reconciled correctly and overseeing the property income process. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and measuring workflow through the team and for developing, training and coaching team members.  They will also be the initial referral point for technical queries from within the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Submission and checking of all SIPP property VAT returns.
  • Ensuring Property Manager statements are completed correctly.
  • Oversight of property income reports.
  • Workflow management and measurement.
  • Ensuring that internal SLAs are met.
  • Assisting with Property Admin FTR’s and preventing complaints where possible.
  • Providing technical assistance to the team.
  • Liaising with internal reconciliations teams.
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding queries and ensuring compliance checks are completed within a timely matter.
  • Completing Performance Reviews and ensuring PDPs are in place for the team.
  • Coaching, developing and inspiring staff.
  • Ensuring that procedures are up-to-date and followed.

Competence, knowledge and skills

Competence, knowledge and skills

  • Supervisory/training experience.
  • VAT knowledge and experience.
  • Experience of administering commercial property in SIPPs is preferable.
  • Excellent knowledge of VAT calculations and the completion of VAT returns.
  • Planning, organisation, and time management.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to motivate, develop and engage with your team.
  • Comfortable with breaking down and inputting complex property manager statements in to Composer.
  • Drive, energy and a positive attitude.
