A bit about us

In 1995 our founders, Andy Bell and Nicholas Littlefair, started the company with just £10,000 in personal loans in a tiny office in Manchester. Their entrepreneurial spirit, ambition and vision for the industry fuelled the company’s growth, so that today it is one of the UK’s largest investment platforms, with more than 700 employees and assets under administration worth over £42 billion.

Our culture

We know that our people are the driving force behind our success, so we strive to create a working environment in which everyone feels happy, motivated and valued.

In this short film a few members of our fantastic and ever-growing team share their own experiences of working at AJ Bell.

Our head office at Salford Quays is an amazing space, with its own on-site gym, training and seminar suite, e-learning zone, dining area, lounge and rooftop terrace. No wonder it was named as one of the top five offices in the world by independent workplace effectiveness assessors, Leesman. But it’s not just the physical environment that makes working here so special.

We also host loads of social and team building events throughout the year, including our legendary Christmas and summer parties. And thanks to our partnerships with sporting teams and events – like Sale Sharks RUFC and the London Triathlon – our staff members get to benefit from a variety of special offers and exclusive experiences too.

Finally, we encourage an environment of real collaboration and open communication. An open door policy is encouraged around the business, and twice a year our CEO gives his ‘town hall talk’ to the whole company, ensuring that everyone is kept fully informed and up-to-date with the latest developments across the organisation.
