AJ Bell Investcentre launches mobile app for clients

AJ Bell has today launched a new mobile app for clients of AJ Bell Investcentre, its adviser platform. The option to add adviser branding will be added later this year.

The launch is an extension of a new client view and execution only area of the AJ Bell Investcentre platform that went live recently. 

The client view section of the platform enables advisers’ clients to log in to their AJ Bell accounts and:

  • check the current value of their portfolio(s)

  • access information on the underlying investments on AJ Bell’s Funds & Shares Service

  • view their cash statement and transaction history

  • read their secure messages

The execution only service enables advisers to set up an execution only account for their SIPP clients and transfer cash into that account so the client can trade directly in the full range of investments on the AJ Bell platform including shares, funds, Investment Trusts, ETFs and bonds.

The new app offers advisers’ clients access to all of this functionality on the move and is available to download for free from the Apple and Android app stores.

256 bit SSL encryption gives the app the same high level of security that clients get when they log in to the platform from a PC.

Over the coming months AJ Bell will introduce a new feature that will enable financial advisers to add their branding to both the client view area of the platform and the mobile app to maintain their ownership of the client relationship when clients access their AJ Bell accounts directly.

“The feedback we had from advisers is that clients increasingly expect to be able to view their accounts online, when they want and how they want.  The new client view area of the platform was a direct response to that and the mobile app now gives clients access to the same information while on the move.

“Some advisers also have demand from clients to be able to trade a portion of their portfolio themselves and the execution only service enables advisers to offer that, rather than seeing those funds transferred to a DIY service.

“We know that the relationship between adviser and client is of paramount importance and so we will enable advisers to add their branding to the client view area of the platform and mobile app over the coming months so their brand remains at the forefront when their clients are checking their AJ Bell accounts.”
