How can I give or gain access to another person's account?

Answer

If you have family linking access to another account, you can view it by logging in to your own account and clicking the box below 'View account'. A drop-down list will appear, letting you choose the account you’d like to view.

Can I give a member of my family access to my account(s)?

Yes, you can give a family member access to your account through our family linking service – choosing to give them ‘View-only’ or ‘Dealing’ access.

‘View only’ access means your family member can only see and monitor your account, whereas ‘Dealing’ access allows them to buy and sell investments on your behalf.

Only one family member can have access to your account at a time, and they’ll need to have an AJ Bell account of their own.

To set this up, log into your account and head to our family linking page.

Your family member will be notified by email and will need to accept your request.

Online family linking can only be set up on the following accounts:

  • Stocks and shares ISA
  • Lifetime ISA
  • Dealing account
  • Self-invested personal pension (SIPP)
  • Ready-made pension

Family linking isn’t possible with Junior ISAs. That's because a Junior ISA can only be managed by the parent or legal guardian (the 'registered contact') who opened the account.

To set up family linking on a Junior SIPP account, please fill out a Junior SIPP family linking form and email it to administration@ajbell.co.uk – or you could post it to:
