Atlassian Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Atlassian Administrator to manage and optimise our Atlassian tools, with an initial focus on Jira Service Management. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in configuring, maintaining, and enhancing our Atlassian tools to support our internal teams and external stakeholders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, drive process improvements, and contribute to the overall success of our organisation.

What does the job involve?

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to customize Jira Service Management, enhancing service delivery and efficiency.
  • Configure workflows, issue types, and screen schemes to meet department-specific needs.
  • Manage user permissions and security settings across the Atlassian estate.
  • Partner with the Agile Coach to automate processes and optimize Jira setups for development teams.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot Atlassian issues, ensuring system functionality.
  • Perform regular audits and monitor performance to drive system improvements.
  • Stay updated on Atlassian updates and best practices, recommending necessary upgrades.
  • Support the integration of Jira Service Management with other tools and systems.
  • Document changes and procedures to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead a regular Atlassian Community of Practice to maximise tool utilisation.

What we're looking for:

Essential:

  • Proficiency in configuring and administering Jira Service Management and JIRA, including workflows, schemes, permissions, and automation rules.
  • Proficiency in JQL and filters and how these can interact with reports and Automation.
  • Experience working with the Atlassian REST APIs.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, PowerShell, Python) and integrating with REST APIs for automation and customisation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Atlassian Analytics and building complex reports.
  • Understanding of IT service management (ITSM) principles and best practices.
  • Atlassian certification(s) (e.g., Atlassian Certified Professional) preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of Agile Development best practices.
