AJ Bell has added four new Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) focused funds to its Favourite funds list, taking the total number of funds on the list to 77.

The four ESG funds that have been added to the list are:

•    BMO Responsible Sterling Corporate Bond
•    Liontrust Sustainable Future Global Growth
•    Liontrust Sustainable Future UK Growth
•    Royal London Sustainable Leaders

At the same time AJ Bell has removed Kames Ethical Cautious Managed.

Ryan Hughes, head of active portfolios at AJ Bell, comments:

“There is clear increase in the interest towards responsible and sustainable investment and we’ve recognised that by widening the range of funds investing in this manner on our Favourite funds list. With no one clear definition of ESG investing and many new entrants in this space, we’ve focused our research on those managers who have significant heritage of investing this way and have ESG in their DNA, rather than those who have only just seen the virtues of ESG investing. This should give investors confidence that ESG is at the heart of the approach rather than a secondary consideration.”
