Whistleblowing (Speak up at AJ Bell)

We’re committed to doing the right thing at AJ Bell.

If you work for or with us and have concerns about wrongdoing, misconduct or something that doesn’t feel right, we encourage you to speak up.

Speaking up helps us identify issues early and maintain trust with our customers, colleagues and shareholders.

Who can speak up

Anyone working for or with AJ Bell can raise a concern. This includes current and former employees, contractors, agency staff and secondees.

You don’t need to decide whether your concern meets a legal definition before raising it.

If you’re unsure, it’s always better to speak up.

Concerns may relate to something happening at AJ Bell, or within another organisation you’ve come across through your work.

What you can raise

You can speak up about concerns including:

  • breaches of law or regulation
  • serious misconduct, such as bullying, harassment or sexual harassment
  • breaches of FCA conduct rules
  • fraud, bribery or corruption
  • risks to health and safety
  • deliberate concealment of wrongdoing

Personal employment matters (such as pay, performance or working arrangements) are usually handled through HR processes. If a concern is raised through whistleblowing in error, we’ll help guide you to the right place.

How to raise a concern

You can raise a concern confidentially or anonymously through our independent whistleblowing service:

Protection and confidentiality

We don’t tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.

All concerns are handled confidentially. Identities are protected on a strict need‑to‑know basis, or where the law requires us to share information.

External reporting

If appropriate, you can also raise concerns directly with prescribed bodies such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
