As National Apprenticeship Week kicks off, Manchester-based investment platform AJ Bell has opened applications for its latest apprenticeship schemes - the Investment Operations Specialist Apprenticeship and the Digital Apprenticeship Programmes. 39 Apprentices are currently on these programmes, gaining invaluable skills and qualifications in the workplace.
The Investment Operations Specialist Apprenticeship takes place over two years and those enrolled will work towards a Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment qualification.
Digital apprentices undertake a four-year programme working alongside the AJ Bell Technology Services team whilst gaining a BSc degree with Manchester Metropolitan University.
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week (8th-12th February), AJ Bell is hosting an “Apprenticeships at AJ Bell” event where students across the Greater Manchester region can hear more about the apprenticeship opportunities available at AJ Bell and get involved in Q&A sessions with current apprentices.
Other celebrations include AJ Bell taking part in a panel discussion hosted by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority which considers how apprenticeships can build the future of the region, plus presentations from existing apprentices to both a local college and an educational broadcaster, detailing their own experiences on apprenticeship programmes.

Andy Bell, chief executive at AJ Bell, comments:
“Young people aiming to start a career are amongst the most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic as many businesses have been forced to scale back on recruitment. We are prouder than ever to continue to offer our apprenticeship schemes which give young people an opportunity to gain valuable experience and qualifications, which can serve an excellent kick start to their career.
“National Apprenticeship Week is a great showcase for the important role apprenticeship schemes play in developing the UK workforce. As part of that, we will be sharing the experience we have gained from our award-winning apprenticeship programmes and reinforcing our commitment to providing opportunities to ambitious young people as part of the development of the team at AJ Bell. 70 of our employees have taken part in, or are currently working towards, an apprenticeship at AJ Bell, and each has brought an injection of energy to their teams and the wider business.”
