Music investor raises £100m for further deals after securing hit songs

Musical rights investment firm Hipgnosis Songs (SONG) is issuing £100m in fresh equity for further acquisitions and ‘to satisfy demand for new shares from existing shareholders’.

Since its IPO in 2018 the fund has acquired catalogues with a total value of £234m. Earlier this month it picked up a music catalogue from the songwriter behind six global hit songs for Canadian artist Shawn Mendes which have had more than 5bn streams on Spotify and Apple Music.
