Mobile Engineering Manager

To further our continued expansion, we are looking for a Mobile Engineering Manager to align to our direct-to-consumer development team, working with our talented mobile engineers on our award-winning mobile applications. This is a managerial role where you will be helping create an inspiring workplace where teams are empowered to drive great customer experiences and business results. A day in the Life…

  • Leading multiple squads of engineers building mobile experiences for our AJ Bell, Dodl
  • Working in Native, Kotlin multiplatform and Flutter technologies
  • Working across the technology organisation to integrate with services and APIs that power our industry-leading apps
  • Working with the iOS, Android, and Flutter ecosystems
  • Collaborating with our Product leaders on roadmaps, features and enhancements for the future of our mobile strategy
  • Working with both on and offshore teams ensuring close collaboration
  • Working alongside engineers and architects to make code level decisions that lead to cleaner, more sustainable architecture
  • Supporting Engineers in 1-on-1 meetings to help them achieve their career goals and objectives
  • Supporting Squads though agile working practices
  • Leading on incident management as a when required
  • Helping shape the future direction of the teams, ensuring collaboration, progression, and a focus on quality in a dynamic environment.

Skills we would like you to have

  • Strong focus and track record of delivering mobile applications
  • Strong background leading transformation projects
  • Strong technology and development background
  • Experience in both native and multi-platform technologies
  • Experience managing engineers
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, using technology to drive business metrics
  • Experience working with multiple agile processes
  • No discomfort with direct conversation holding your team, peers, and leaders accountable to proving best in class mobile solutions
  • Demonstrable experience of managing effectively through ambiguity
  • Pragmatism, you can prioritize, simplify, and drive a path towards results.

Hybrid working

That's why we offer a hybrid working model, where you’ll spend a minimum of 50% of your working time per month in the Manchester office.
