Tax Administrator

We are now recruiting for a Tax Management Administrator to join our growing operations department on a 12 month fixed term contract! The main focus of this role will be to complete accurate and timely tax reporting for the UK, US and Spain. 

The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Ensuring all tax processes are complete and accurate.
    • Ensuring that US tax reporting is completely and accurately reconciled and produced within the timescales prescribed within the Qualified Intermediary agreement
    • Validation of US and Canadian tax documentation and application to Customers accounts.
    • Accounts held with external custodians are monitored to ensure that stock is held in the correct accounts according to client residence and tax treaty requirements;
    • Compiling periodic returns required under UK tax legislation (including Section 18/ EUSD and ISA reporting) to HMRC, ensuring these are accurate and produced in a timely manner.
    • Timely production and sanity checking of client tax packs;
    • Weekly reconciliation of Spanish tax transactions and respective tax deductions, and the creation of the monthly submission
    • Quarterly creation and submission of our CSDR reporting to the Bank of England
    • Production of a monthly SIPP tax reclaim report for Retail and Custody Solution clients – ensuring all reclaimable stock is being reported correctly and any queries/mistakes are identified and corrected
    • Running daily/weekly audit reports.
  • Ensuring that all processes are carried out in accordance with internal and external SLAs
  • Maintenance and continual review of key controls in order to mitigate risk to the business
  • Support project implementations, fixes and upgrades through testing of software, including any core releases.
  • Following structured processes to deliver accurate outcomes to meet regulatory requirements, including consumer duty and deliver the best possible customer experience.
  • Approach vulnerable customers using best practice and document any reasonable steps taken for their fair treatment.

Competence, knowledge and skills

Competence

  • You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE's grades A*-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Experience in evaluating complex data for decision-making and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Team player with positive approach with the ability to enthuse and motivate others
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven structured environment, at times autonomously
  • Ability to organise and support others
  • Conscientious and methodical approach to work

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good product and system knowledge
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Understands the importance of organisational governance including, processes, procedures and key risks and controls.
  • Understands the basic principles of stockbroking
  • Market knowledge of ISA, QI and HMRC processing desirable
