CyanConnode Holdings PLC on Tuesday said it is collaborating with Silicon Laboratories Inc on its Omnimesh product range.

The Cambridge, England-based narrowband RF mesh networks provider said it will integrate SiLabs’ FG25 Sub-GHz Wireless SoC into its Omnimesh range.

SiLabs is a Supplier of system-on-chips.

The company said the FG25 is certified by the Wireless Smart Ubiqitous Network Alliance. Wi-SUN is the leading IPv6 sub-GHz mesh technology for smart city and smart utility applications, CyanConnode noted.

The company added that Wi-SUN’s open-source backbone will allow CynaConnode to ‘to quickly scale deployments and leverage the Wi-SUN ecosystem to provide new value to its customers,’ as well as ensure that it can meet the technical requirements set by the Indian government.

Chair John Cronin said: ‘SiLabs’ FG25 sub-GHz wireless SoC and Wi-SUN provide an efficient solution for performance and cost. As the smart-metering market evolves, expectations for what smart meters can offer will increase.

‘The FG25 and Wi-SUN will scale with our customers’ needs, especially in India, where the government of India has mandated the rollout of 250 million smart meters.’

CyanConnode shares were up 3.4% trading at 19.25 pence per share on Tuesday afternoon in London.
