Engineering firm benefiting from increased demand

Scottish engineer Weir (WEIR), which provides pumps used by shale gas operators in the US, says a rebound in activity will support better-than-expected full year profit from its oil and gas division (17 Jul).

This will be partially offset by a one-off charge of £13m relating to its Gabbioneta flow control business. The group will release its half year results on 27 July.
