IN BRIEF: Tharisa guides robust interim earnings of strong PGM prices

Tharisa PLC - Cyprus-headquartered platinum miner - Guides for basic earnings per share of between 15.3 US cents and 15.8 cents for the six months that ended March 31, multiplied from 2.5 cents a year before, thanks to strong platinum group metal prices. Headline EPS is estimated at between 16.1 cents and 16.6 cents, from 2.9 cents.

Last month, Tharisa said it boosted platinum group metal production in the first half of its financial year, taking advantage of strong prices. It reported PGM production of 73,100 ounces for the first six months that ended March 31, up 17% from 62,400 ounces a year earlier. For the first half, the average PGM basket price was $2,599 an ounce, up 85% from $1,403 a prior year.

Tharisa intends to release its interim financial results on or about Thursday next week.
