How can I view my crystallised and uncrystallised pension split?
Your SIPP investments and cash are held together in a single account. Where you’ve already accessed your pension, this means we use a notional split to track the proportion of your pension that is crystallised (in drawdown) or uncrystallised, rather than ring-fencing specific assets between each. Approaches can vary between different providers.
Our system allocates investment growth and losses proportionately. If 50% of your pension is crystallised and 50% is uncrystallised, any investment growth or loss will also be allocated 50/50. If one portion makes up a larger share of your pension, it will receive a larger share of the growth or loss.
New contributions will boost the uncrystallised fund split, whereas withdrawals such as drawdown income will affect the crystallised portion.
Any withdrawals and tax liabilities relating to an inherited (beneficiary) pension are recorded independently.
You can view your crystallised and uncrystallised fund split in the ‘Manage my pension’ section of your AJ Bell account.
