How long will my transfer take?
Answer
When moving an account over to us, we’ll keep you updated along the way through our Transfer tracker.
The Transfer tracker will show you each stage of your transfer, along with more in-depth status updates, so you know exactly where your money is.
How long your transfer takes will depend on:
- What account type you're moving over. Pensions usually take a bit longer than ISAs or Dealing accounts.
- What you move over to us. Cash-only transfers tend to be quicker than moving funds, shares, and international shares.
- How quickly your current provider gets back to us and how quickly they complete and send over any transfer paperwork.
- Whether you have any outstanding fees or costs to pay to your current provider.
If you're transferring an ISA or Dealing account that has US or Canadian holdings, you'll also need to complete an extra form. For US holdings, it's a W-8BEN form. For Canadian holdings, it's a NR301 form. To avoid delays, please send the form to us along with your transfer form.

If you’re transferring an account with both cash and investments, your investments will be transferred first, followed by your cash.
