Dividend yield
Dividend yield shows you the annual dividend payment as a percentage of the current share price. You calculate it by dividing the annual dividend per share by the share price, then multiplying by 100. For example, a stock trading at £10 that pays 50p annually has a 5% dividend yield. This percentage changes as the share price moves, even if the actual dividend payment stays the same.
