2025/26 tax year deadlines
As 2025/26 winds up and 5 April approaches, we've outlined the tax year deadlines for funding and taking payments so you can make the most of your annual allowances.
Taking pension payments
Planning to take a payment from your SIPP this tax year? You'll need to request it before the following cut-off dates:
| Deadline | |
|---|---|
| 9 March 2026 | If you want a tax-free lump sum payment. |
| 16 March 2026 | If you want to convert to flexi-access from capped drawdown before taking an income payment, or you want to take an uncrystallised funds pension lump sum (UFPLS) payment. |
| 28 March 2026 at 12pm | If you're already accessing your SIPP and want a one-off income payment by BACS or CHAPS (costs £25 plus VAT). |
To take a tax-free lump sum payment or an uncrystallised funds pension lump sum (UFPLS) payment, log in and select ‘Access my pension’. Then simply request the payment you want to take. Remember to also make sure you have enough cleared cash in your SIPP to cover the payment.
If you need to post us some paperwork before the end of the tax year, please allow enough time for it to reach us before the relevant deadline.
Funding your ISAs
| Deadline | |
|---|---|
| 5 April 2026 at 11:59pm | The deadline for paying into your Stocks and shares ISA, Lifetime ISA or child's Junior ISA |
To add cash to your ISAs, log in and select 'Single payment', then in the dropdown menu, 'Pay from my bank' or 'Debit card'.
Although the funding deadline is 11:59pm, you may not want to leave it until the very last minute. This is to allow for potential delays, such as your bank needing to authenticate the payment.
Bed and ISA
| Deadline | |
|---|---|
| 27 March 2026 at 5pm | The deadline for carrying out a Bed and ISA before the end of 2025/26. You will be able to place a Bed and ISA transaction for the new tax year from 6 April 2026. |
Gilt transfers
Planning to gift shares to a member of your family this tax year? You'll need to send us a secure message requesting your gift transfer on or before 27 March 2026.
