Accenture beats quarterly revenue expectations, shares surge

Accenture PLC shares jumped on Thursday after the information technology company reported fourth quarter revenue ahead of expectations and said it sees revenue growth of up to 6% in 2027.

Shares in Accenture opened up 21% at USD222.06 in New York on Thursday.

Dublin, Ireland-based Accenture said net income rose 40% to USD2.03 billion in the three months to the end of August, from USD1.45 billion a year earlier.

Revenue for the fourth quarter increased 6.1% to USD18.68 billion from USD17.60 billion, ahead of the company's guidance range of between USD17.75 billion and USD18.40 billion.

For the 12 months to the end of August, net income rose 8.8% to USD8.52 billion from USD7.83 billion a year earlier. Annual revenue increased 6.5% to USD74.18 billion, from USD69.67 billion.

Diluted earnings per share rose 46% to USD3.29 in the quarter and 12% to USD13.56 for the year.

The company declared a quarterly dividend of USD1.71 per share, up 5% from a year earlier, payable on November 13.

Accenture Chair and Chief Executive Officer Julie Sweet said: "We exceeded our fourth-quarter revenue guidance range and capped off another year of broad-based growth across our business."

Looking ahead, Accenture said it expects revenue to grow between 3% and 6% in financial 2027, with diluted EPS of between USD14.39 and USD14.81.

For the first quarter of financial 2027, Accenture forecast revenue of between USD18.95 billion and USD19.60 billion, representing growth of between 2% and 6% compared with a year earlier.
