Avon Tech says UK defence ministry orders respirators for Ukraine

Avon Technologies PLC on Monday confirmed that the UK Ministry of Defence placed an order for its FM50 respirators in support of the Ukraine army.

The Wiltshire, England-based military protection manufacturer said its FM50 respirator meets the latest NATO forces’ military mask requirements. It provides full-face protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats, with low breathing resistance to ensure a comfortable wearer experience.

The order will be delivered in the current financial year, which ends September 30.

Chief Executive Officer Jos Sclater said: ‘We are proud of the contribution Avon Protection provides to the national security of the UK and its international partners. This order demonstrates our critical contribution to the overall health and resilience of the UK defence industrial base and reinforces the UK’s commitment to continue its military support to Ukraine, as stated in the 2025 strategic defence review.’

Avon Tech shares rose 0.6% to 1,818.00 pence each on Monday morning in London.
