Avon Technologies hails orders worth $40 million from US military

Avon Technologies PLC on Friday reported orders worth $40 million from the US Army and Defense Logistics Agency under an existing contract.

Shares in the Wiltshire, England-based military protection equipment manufacturer were flat at 1,740.00 pence on Friday morning in London, and are down 8.2% over the past year.

Cleveland, Ohio-based Team Wendy Ceradyne, which Avon acquired back in 2020, received the orders as part of a ‘next generation integrated head protection system’ helmet contract, secured in September 2021.

Avon Chief Executive Jos Sclater commented: ‘Securing the highest share of both DLA and ACC delivery orders against competition is a strong endorsement of Team Wendy’s product performance and improving operational execution. These awards build our order book and provide important long-term visibility, underpinning our confidence in the group as we continue to deliver and strengthen our position with the US [Department of War].’
