Bank of England lifts UK growth forecasts for 2026 and 2027

The Bank of England on Thursday raised its forecasts for UK economic growth in 2026 and 2027, despite surging inflation.

The central bank now estimates gross domestic product to hit 1.6% this year and 1.3% next year.

In July, it had forecast GDP output of 1.1% for both years, while its expectation for UK growth to slow next year mirrored recent forecasts from the country's government and International Monetary Fund.
