On the Beach says profit in upper guidance range after booking growth

On the Beach Group PLC on Thursday said it expects adjusted pretax profit for the financial year ending September 30 to be in the top half of its guidance range following booking growth "significantly ahead" of the wider travel market.

In a trading update, the Manchester, England-based package holiday firm said it expects adjusted pretax profit of £22 million to £23 million for financial 2026, against guidance of £18 million to £25 million. It expects adjusted pretax profit of £28 million to £35 million for financial 2027, representing growth of about 22% to 55% on the previous year.

This follows 9% booking growth and a total transaction value of £1.3b, representing an increase of 6% on the previous year. Over the last eight weeks, total bookings increased 17%, while summer 2026 booking momentum rose 4% year on year. On the Beach said it exits financial 2026 debt-free with cash of about £60 million.

Chief Executive Shaun Morton said On the Beach had delivered adjusted pretax profit in the top half of its financial 2026 guidance range following a strong summer season.

He said booking momentum into financial 2027 remained strong, with total bookings up 17% over the last eight weeks and bookings from repeat customers up 18%.

Morton attributed the progress to strategic investment in technology, its expanded product offering and its brand, which he said had helped drive market share gains and deeper customer loyalty.

Shares in On the Beach were up 6.1% at 173.2 pence per share on Thursday morning in London.
