IN BRIEF: Asia Wealth in "active" talks for wealth, clean energy buys

Asia Wealth Group Holdings Ltd - Bangkok-based investment holding company seeking to acquire Asian and European wealth management companies with potential to expand in Asia - Pretax profit multiplies to USD31,840 in the financial year that ended February 28 from just USD2,004 the year before. Commission income declines 24% to USD730,789 from USD962,319, but Asia Wealth benefits from a USD158,752 foreign exchange gain, compared to USD27,202 the year before. The commission income comes from subsidiary Meyer Asset Management Ltd. Total assets are USD2.2 million at the year-end, including USD841,827 in cash, down marginally from USD2.4 million a year before, with USD1.1 million in cash.

Asia Wealth Chair Richard Cayne says Asia Wealth continues to look for acquisitions and partnerships in Europe and south east Asia and is in "active discussions" with businesses in the wealth management and clean energy sectors.
