IN BRIEF: Berkeley Group executive chair buys PS200,000 in shares

Berkeley Group Holdings PLC - Surrey, England-based housebuilder - Executive Chair Robert Perrins steps in to buy Berkeley shares, after an unscheduled trading sends them tumbling. Perris buys 7,000 shares at £28.78, worth £201,482, on Wednesday. Earlier Wednesday, Berkeley said it has decided to halt land buying amid a UK housing market downturn caused by the conflict in the Middle East. Berkeley also cited an ‘unprecedented’ increase in cost and regulation in the UK in recent years, at a time of increasing interest rates and faltering consumer confidence.

Current stock price: 2,939.96 pence, down 14% in London on Wednesday
