IN BRIEF: Hilton Food taps ex-Barratt and British Gas head as chair

Hilton Food Group PLC - Huntingdon, England-based food packaging company - Hires Mark Clare to be independent non-executive chair from July 1, allowing Mark Allen to move to chief executive from executive chair on the same date. Allen’s change in role was announced with Hilton Food’s annual results in March, when the company also said it plans to focus on its core meat business. Allen had moved to executive chair from non-executive back in November when Steve Murrells stepped down immediately as CEO. Clare was CEO of housebuilder Barratt Developments, now Barratt Redrow PLC, from 2006 to 2015 and managing director of British Gas, part of Centrica PLC, from 2002 to 2006. He currently is a non-executive director of DIY retailer Wickes Group PLC and electricity generator Drax Group PLC.
