IN BRIEF: Lansdowne Resources Chair Jeffrey Auld resigns immediately

Lansdowne Resources PLC - resource exploration company focused on Macaubas graphite project in Brazil - On Wednesday, says Jeffrey Auld, non-executive chair, is stepping down with immediate effect. This follows the resignation of chief executive Stephen Boldy at the end of July. The company says both will continue to support the company's ongoing Energy Charter Treaty arbitration claim against the government of Ireland. Lansdowne Resources says non-executive director Luis Azevedo will act as interim chair while the company searches for a CEO.

The board changes follow Landsowne Resources' acquisition of Sao Gabriel Mineracao Ltda, a Brazilian company focused on developing the Macaubas graphite project in Bahia, Brazil, in May. Landsowne Resources was admitted for trading on the AIM Market the same month. Interim Chair Luis Azevedo says: "With the company repositioned for future growth following the acquisition of Sao Gabriel Mineracao earlier this year and funded in respect of its continued litigation with Ireland, we are excited about the opportunities ahead for Lansdowne Resources and look forward to providing further updates in due course including in respect of the progress made to date at Macaubas."
