IN BRIEF: MP Evans crop production grows in first half; palm oil down

MP Evans Group PLC - Tunbridge Wells, England-based producer of Indonesian crude palm oil - Crop of fresh fruit bunches production climbs 8.2% to 473,700 tonnes in the first half of 2025, from 437,900t a year ago. Scheme-smallholders crop production jumps 13% to 145,400t from 128,300t. MP Evans says: ‘Crops recovered well, particularly in the early part of the year, from the lower levels observed in the second half of 2024, caused by earlier dry weather. The group continues to supplement the crop that it harvests by purchasing additional amounts for processing in its mills.’

However, the production of crude palm oil falls 2.4% on-year to 172,800t from 177,000t, while palm kernel output is down 3.3% at 37,900t from 39,200t. Despite this, the company says it continues to achieve ‘strong’ extraction rates for both crude palm oil and palm kernels.
