IN BRIEF: Schroder European Real Estate launches tenant legal action

Schroder European Real Estate Investment Trust PLC - London and Johannesburg-listed property investor - Starts legal proceedings against Shuurman Beheer BV as it does not fulfill its lease obligations. Schroder wants to enforce the €350,000 rental guarantee. Shuurman Beheer is the sole tenant at its Alkmaar industrial property in the Netherlands. The tenant stops operations at the cite as it faces financial difficulties. Says it has started marketing the premises.

Schroder also says it has signed a new 10-year annually indexed lease with the State of Baden-Wurttemberg at its Stuttgart property in Germany, reflecting an 18% increase to the previous passing. At its Rumilly logistics property, Schroder has agreed heads of terms on a lease extension with the sole tenant.
