IN BRIEF: Travis Perkins shares up as Toolstation segment grows

Travis Perkins PLC - Northampton, England-based builders’ merchant - Total revenue is down 2.4% on-year in the first quarter, with like-for-like revenue down 2.1%. In Merchanting, revenue falls 3.5%, while like-for-like revenue is down 3.2%. Merchanting segment revenue is lower as prices stabilised amid a modest decline in volume, the firm says. For Toolstation, the company’s tools and building materials store chain, Travis Perkins reports a 2.8% increase in revenue, and 3.7% growth in like-for-like revenue. Regarding Toolstation, Travis Perkins says: ‘The business continues to make good progress on the delivery of maturity benefits and executing actions to enhance operating margin.’
