IN BRIEF: UIL Ltd net asset value rises 44% after positive year

UIL Ltd - Closed-end Bermuda-incorporated investment company - Announces results for year to June 30. Revenue per ordinary share were 17.65p, up 48% from 11.91p the year before. NAV per share was 257.57, rises 44% from 179.41. NAV per total return for the six months ended June 30 is 50%, up from 14.7%. Pretax profit was £79.8 million,more than trebling from £21.2 million. UIL declares an interim dividend of 2.00p. Says outlooks remains positive, driven by investment in AI and compute capacity. The company has benefitted from rising asset valuations and operating performance across a number of holdings, it says. Notes range of complexities, including climate change and increased government borrowing to possibly impact sector. "Whilst market conditions remain uncertain, these factors are likely to continue to underpin portfolio performance in the short term," the company said.
