Capital Metals annual profit falls amid higher payment charge

Capital Metals PLC on Tuesday reported a widened annual loss amid a higher share-based payment charge.

Shares in London-based mining firm targeting mineral sand deposits in Sri Lanka were down 3.8% at 3.80 pence each in afternoon trading.

Capital Metals pretax loss was USD2.0 million for the period, 80% wider than USD1.1 million a year earlier.

The company reported no revenue, in line with last year's result.

The wider loss was due to higher share-based payment charge that reached USD469,277, compared with USD4,611 a year earlier. Administrative cost increased 42% to USD1.7 million, from USD1.2 million.

The company reported USD3.5 million cash and cash equivalent on March 31, up from USD1.4 million a year before.
