Cordiant has "major" contract wins for Hudson Interxchange data centre

Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Ltd on Tuesday said that its New York data centre Hudson Interxchange signed a "major" new customer contract.

The Guernsey-based investor in digital infrastructure, managed by Cordiant Capital Inc, said the new customer contract with a specialist provider of high-density graphics processing unit cloud computing infrastructure covers a period of five years and is linked to inflation.

The contract, which supports artificial intelligence workloads, covers 1.8 megawatt of capacity at the facility at 60 Hudson Street in lower Manhattan, with the customer holding a right of first refusal over a further 2MW of capacity.

Billing under the contract is expected to start in September on an initial 450 kilowatt deployment of high-density racks, with the remaining 1.35MW scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026.

Further, Hudson received an expansion order from an existing customer. Cordiant said: "Taken together, these new contracts are expected to bring Hudson significantly closer to breakeven once fully deployed. Hudson continues to see interest in its remaining capacity from existing and prospective customers."

Atul Roy, interim chief executive officer of Hudson and head of telecoms strategy at Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Management said: "This contract win is an important milestone for Hudson. It validates our strategy of investing in high-density capacity at 60 Hudson Street, the most interconnected commercial building in New York, to serve rapidly growing demand for AI and high-performance computing. With billing commencing in September and full deployment expected by December, this agreement, together with continued expansion from our existing customers, brings Hudson significantly closer to breakeven and lays the foundation for the next phase of the company's growth."

Cordiant shares rose 1.7% to 123.50 pence each on late Tuesday morning in London.
