Domino's Pizza hopes new chicken brand will help drive further growth

Domino’s Pizza Group PLC on Monday announced the launch of a new chicken concept as it announced an investor event in December.

The Milton Keynes, England-based master franchise holder in the UK and Ireland for pizza delivery firm Domino’s Pizza Inc said it will first launch the Chick ’N’ Dip sub-brand in 187 stores across the north west of England and Northern Ireland.

Chief Executive Andrew Rennie called it a ‘bold new chapter for Domino’s.’

Rennie said it opens up a ‘significant’ opportunity for its UK & Ireland business, and has the ‘potential to be a powerful new growth lever.’

Domino’s Pizza explained the new product aims to capture a share of one of the fastest growing markets in casual dining.

Shares in the company were down 0.7% at 208.60 pence each in London on Monday morning.

In addition, Domino’s Pizza said it plans to host an investor event on December 9 at which it will provide an update on the growth opportunities for the core UK and Ireland business.

The event will cover topics such as the loyalty trial and rollout plans, progress in digital projects and data, innovation, store openings, growth opportunities in Ireland and capital allocation priorities, including share buybacks and M&A.

Domino’s Pizza will issue a third quarter trading statement on November 4.
