Drax CFO Andy Skelton to retire, will stay until successor is found

Drax Group PLC on Wednesday said Chief Financial Officer Andy Skelton has decided to retire from the board and his role as CFO.

The Selby, Yorkshire based electricity generator said it has initiated a recruitment process to hire a new CFO, with further updates to follow. Skelton will remain as a director of the company until a successor is in place.

Skelton said: ‘I am choosing to retire from corporate life to spend more time with my family and pursue other personal interests in the knowledge that we have built a firm foundation from which Drax can execute its strategy.’

Chief Executive Officer Will Gardiner said: ‘On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Andy for his contribution to Drax over the last six years. Andy has played an instrumental role in the growth and development of the group, putting in place a strong financial foundation on which we will continue to build, as well as an experienced finance team.’

Shares in Drax were down 0.7% at 654.00 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
