Essentra eyes top-end operating profit after strong third quarter
Essentra PLC on Thursday said it delivered strong revenue growth in its third quarter, supported by increased volumes and disciplined pricing.
Shares in the Oxford, England-based manufacturer and distributor of plastic-injection-moulded, vinyl-dip-moulded and metal components rose 6.2% to 120.00 pence each in London on Thursday.
Revenue increased by 15% at constant currency on a working day adjusted basis in the quarter ended September 30, comprising like-for-like growth of 11% and a 3.8% contribution from the acquisitions of Device Technologies and Boteco.
Like-for-like growth in the period was broad-based across all regions.
Europe, Middle East & Africa delivered high single-digit growth, while the Americas saw an acceleration of momentum, delivering low double-digit growth. Asia Pacific delivered low double-digit growth, led by China, with continued progress in new business wins across the region in digital infrastructure and energy transformation end-markets.
Essentra said the integration of both Device Technologies and Boteco remains on track, with the first group of Device Technologies products being added to the Essentra range in the fourth quarter.
The bolt-on acquisition pipeline remains "active" and "subject to the group's disciplined financial and strategic criteria," the firm added.
As a result of the strong trading, Essentra expects revenue growth for the full year to exceed previous guidance, reflecting increased volume growth and disciplined pricing actions, which are expected to recover elevated inflationary costs.
It also now expects full-year 2026 adjusted operating profit to be towards the upper end of market expectations of between £32.3 million to £34.3 million, which would be up from £32.0 million in 2025.
