Golden Prospect net asset value falls, eyes move to Main Market

Golden Prospect Precious Metals Ltd on Friday reported a fall in net asset value per share during the first half of 2026, reflecting lower gold prices.

Still, the company said it remains "positive" about precious metals equities and that it is considering a move to the London Main Market.

Golden Prospect, an investment firm headquartered in Guernsey, Channel Islands, with a focus on gold, silver and precious metals companies, said its NAV per share declined to 100.80 pence, down 14% compared to 116.60 six months prior, reflecting a fluctuation in gold prices.

Golden Prospect declared an interim dividend of 1.51 pence per share, in line with its dividend policy.

Golden Prospect's strategy will remain focused on mid and small cap gold and precious metals mining listed equities.

"We remain positive on precious metal equities and believe that several structural drivers remain in place for the metals," the company said. "Silver remains a meaningful position in the company at 21.7%, reflecting its dual role as both a precious and industrial metal," it added.

Global Prospect is considering moving to the Main Market from the International category. It said this would make the company eligible for inclusion in the FTSE UK index series, including the FTSE All-Share index, and give it more flexibility to issue new shares at a lower cost.

The company reported several changes in management during the first half, including the appointment in June of Monica Tepes as chair, succeeding Toby Birch.

Golden Prospect shares were up 0.6% at 113.63 pence on Friday morning in London.
