Huddled shares jump as announces launch of live commerce operation

Huddled Group PLC on Friday said its live commerce operation has launched, which it noted represented an evolution of its value-driven e-commerce model.

Huddled shares rose 20% to 0.60 pence each on Friday around noon in London.

The Nottingham, England-based e-commerce company said the launch introduces live, presenter-led shopping formats integrated with automated fulfilment and next-day delivery.

Further, Huddled said current live commerce capability includes real-time auctions on WhatNot and TikTok.

The company plans to expand its live commerce footprint over the coming weeks, including adding more product categories and extending broadcast hours, as well as launching on eBay Live. Further, it will beta test its proprietary live-auction platform.

Huddled Executive Chair Martin Higginson said: "Huddled's move into live commerce marks an exciting evolution of our strategy: using surplus inventory to deliver exceptional value, while adding entertainment, community, technology, and convenience to the customer experience."

He added: "Early testing across Whatnot and TikTok has been highly encouraging, with weekly sales already reaching approximately £100,000 and strong signs of repeat engagement. While there is still much to learn and refine, we believe Huddled is well positioned to capitalise on this emerging opportunity by making online shopping more engaging, more rewarding, and above all, fun."
