Ireland jobless rate steady at 5.0% in August - CSO

Ireland's unemployment rate was unchanged last month, numbers from the Central Statistics Office showed on Wednesday.

According to the CSO, the jobless rate stayed at 5.0% in August, where it stood in July.

On-year, the rate of unemployment rose from 4.9%.

The number of those unemployed fell by 1,200 on month to 147,100. On-year, it climbed by 1,900.
