Ireland quarterly economic growth upwardly revised - CSO

Ireland's economy fared better than first expected in the second quarter of the year, data from the Central Statistics Office showed Friday.

The CSO said gross domestic product fell 0.4% on-year in the second quarter of 2026, upwardly revised from an initially reported 1.6% decline. The Irish economy had slumped 13% on-year in the first three months of 2026.

On-quarter, GDP jumped 10% in the second quarter, markedly above the preliminary reading which showed a 3.9%. GDP had slid 7.8% in the first quarter.
