Irish unemployment rate falls to 4.7% in August? CSO

Ireland’s unemployment rate came down in August, data published by the Central Statistics Office showed Friday.

The country’s unemployment rate was 4.7% in August, down from 4.8% in July, the latter revised down from 4.9%.

Ireland’s unemployment rate for females fell to 4.5% in August from 4.7% in July, while for males it came down to 4.9% in August from 5.0% in July.

The number of people registered as unemployed in Ireland dropped to 138,200 in August from 142,200 in July.
