Irish unemployment rate unchanged at 4.7% in September? CSO

Ireland’s unemployment rate remained unchanged in September, data published by the Central Statistics Office showed on Wednesday.

The country’s unemployment rate was 4.7% in September, the same as in August.

The number of unemployment people edged down marginally to 138,200 in September from 138,600 in August.

The unemployment rate for females was 4.5% in September, unchanged from August, while the unemployment rate for males fell to 4.8% in September from 4.9% in August.

Meanwhile the youth unemployment rate, those aged between 15 and 24, edged up to 12.2% in September from 12.1% in August, the August jobless rate revised up from 11.9%.
