Jet2 celebrates sustained demand as plans move to London Main Market
Jet2 PLC on Thursday said it plans to move to the London Main Market as it was encouraged by strong demand through the summer season.
The Leeds, England-based holiday airline and tour operator said it was "encouraged by the sustained level of demand for both our holiday products" this summer, with seat capacity 7.6% higher than summer 2025 at 19.9 million seats.
The number of passengers booked was up 8.8% and the average load factor at the end of August was 1.5 percentage points higher than a year earlier. Jet2 reiterated that customers continued to book closer to departure. Back in July, the company said this trend had begun as a result of the Middle East conflict.
The airline said its operations at London Gatwick, which begun in March 2026, continued to perform ahead of expectations, prompting the company to expand its fleet to seven aircraft in summer 2027.
Jet2 said seat capacity for next winter is currently 8.0% higher than last winter, at 5.9 million seats, mostly concentrated into London Gatwick.
Jet2 also announced its plans to move to the London Main Market from the Alternative Investment Market before the end of the company's current financial year, in late March 2027.
Jet2 Chief Executive Officer Steve Heapy said: "As the UK's leading tour operator and third-largest airline, we also believe this is the right time to announce our intention to move to the main market of the London Stock Exchange, reflecting the scale of the business we have built, our proven track record of delivery and the opportunities that lie ahead."
Jet2 shares were up 2.7% at 1,496.00 pence in London on Thursday morning.
