Journeo subsidiary gets Elizabeth line orders worth GBP1.3 million
Journeo PLC on Thursday announced that its subsidiary Infotec Ltd received initial orders from GTS Rail Operations Ltd, which operates London's Elizabeth line.
The Leicestershire, England-based transport system services provider said the initial purchase orders totalling £1.3 million cover legacy system upgrades and passenger information display technology for platforms and stations on the Elizabeth Line, operated by GTS on behalf of Transport for London.
Journeo added that the orders represent the first awards under a letter of intent for a wider programme valued at £2.6 million and subject to final contract.
GTS, which comprises a joint venture between Go-Ahead Group, Tokyo Metro and Sumitomo Corp, took over the operation of the Elizabeth line in late May 2025.
Journeo said it will "provide new thin film transistor [TFT] and fine-pitch RGB LED display technology with existing third-party assets, all managed through a content management platform using current open industry standards. Infotec's new fine-pitch RGB LED mainboards deliver near-TFT image quality with lower power consumption and a longer operating life."
Journeo Chief Executive Officer Russ Singleton said: "We are delighted to have secured this initial work with GTS, which will enable us to demonstrate our capabilities on London's Elizabeth line, one of the world's most recognisable and important urban railways. Our open-standards solution combines new display technology with existing assets, avoiding proprietary lock-in and extending the life of legacy equipment."
Journeo shares rose 2.7% to 532.00 pence each on Thursday afternoon in London.
