Light Science gets PS6 million in placing and announces acquisitions
Light Science Technologies Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it raised £6.0 million from a placing, as it unveiled £5.4 million worth of acquisitions.
The company, a provider of lighting, science and plant monitoring solutions, announced the acquisitions of RLUK Injection Ltd and the remaining 10% of UK Circuits & Electronics Solutions Ltd for up to £5.4 million.
As part of the placing, Light Science issued 600.0 million new shares at a price of one pence each, a 66% discount to its closing price on Tuesday.
Light Science shares slumped 60% to 1.15p each in London on Tuesday afternoon.
It plans to raise an additional £600,000 from a retailer offer at the same 1p per share price.
On the acquisition, it will fork out £4.8 million for RLUK, the holding company of Injectaclad, ‘enhancing its ability to win and service opportunities within the passive fire protection’, Light Science said.
‘The company’s PFP division is already an installer of Injectaclad, and the acquisition of RLUK Injection will secure the intellectual property and supply chain for this critical product,’ it added.
It will acquire a remaining minority stake in UK Circuits for £270,000, as well as a property for £300,000.
The deal consolidates ownership of its Contract Electronics Manufacturing division, and ‘eliminates annual rental costs’.
