Marks & Spencer strikes deal with Nordstrom to sell clothing in US

Marks & Spencer Group PLC on Sunday said its fashion products will be sold in the first time in the US after it agreed a deal with department store Nordstrom Inc.

The London-based clothing, food and homeware retailer said its bestselling womenswear ranges will be offered in 30 Nordstrom stores, as well as the Seattle, Washington-based retailer’s online website.

The range will feature more than 60 pieces from M&S’s collections, including premium casual brand Per Una.

M&S said it will be the first time its fashion products will be sold in store in the US. M&S Food entered US stores back in 2022 through a partnership with retail firm Target Corp.

M&S said it aims to become a ‘trusted global brand’ with ‘simple, scalable, repeatable operating models’.

‘With strong brand momentum as the UK’s most trusted retailer and now leading in style, quality and value perceptions in our womenswear range, now is the time to build our brand awareness in the US fashion market and establish ourselves as a globally trusted brand,’ said Mark Lemming, international managing director at M&S.

‘We’re delighted to partner with Nordstrom, a partner who shares our values and will support us as we accelerate our growth.’

Shares in Marks & Spencer were up 0.6% at 328.00 pence on Monday morning in London.
